Admit it. You love coupons. As we all try to stretch the last penny out of our dollars, we want to get a deal, even if sometimes the best deal is not to use a coupon. We want savings. It has become the American way. The CFO of Macy’s, Karen Hoguet, was quoted recently as saying, “People love these coupons. They love thinking they got us. They love getting the value. So I know, intellectually, couponing sounds complicated and not a good thing. But I am telling you from the customer perspective, it’s been very important.”

There is a lot of truth in Hoguet’s words. The reality is that you and I both love to use coupons, and we do it as often as possible whether we are shopping for groceries, buying a DVD, or purchasing a high-end piece of furniture. It is all about the deal.

Fortunately, I love coupons so much that I have created this website where we can all enjoy the benefits of saving money. Coupons for online retailers like Amazon are more often in the form of promotional codes, but some do refer to them as coupons. That is simply a game of semantics. The important thing is to use these deals to spend less and get more.

Amazon coupons and codes are a cinch to use. When you go to check out, a box appears on the summary screen as well as on the payment type page. Just input the code and the savings will appear in the summary for your review. There are actually some discounts that are automatically done. It has to do with how the merchandise is encoded into the extensive Amazon inventory. However, a review of your summary will always verify that a code has been successfully entered.

Peruse this page for some great Amazon.com deals, and come back often because I am constantly updating the page with the latest in coupon codes.

The Amazon Kindle has been riding high for some time now, but things just may be spiraling downward. The big news this week is that Target is removing the Kindle from its merchandising offerings. The phase out will be effective at all of its 1,700 brick and mortar stores as well as on its Internet website. The cessation in Kindle sales will also include all accessories and chargers for the Kindle products.

Coinciding with this unexpected news from Target is the revelation that Microsoft is investing in Barnes & Noble Nook, which has been somewhat at the bottom of the ebook reader chain. This infusion of capitol and backing has investors talking. Microsoft’s $300 million agreement with Nook ties the product to its own app for the upcoming Windows 8 browser. Clearly, Microsoft has taken sides in the ebook reader wars.

What does it all mean for Kindle? That is too early to tell. The loss of the Target distribution will have some impact, and if Microsoft can revitalize the Barnes & Noble Nook, the wars could heat up considerably.

First appearing in November 2011, the Amazon Kindle Fire is doing very well at this point. As of February 2012, the Fire had 54.4 percent of the Android tablet market, even though it is sold as an ereader. This fact has made some waves as buyers seem to like the option of variety with the Kindle Fire which provides them with 8gb of ram, USB connections, WiFi capability, a 7-inch display, the capability of running Android applications, use of the Amazon cloud, and access to Amazon’s other offerings such as music, movies, and ebooks. That is a lot for the retail price of $199.

On the whole, the Amazon Kindle set the ereader market on fire when it was originally released. It is still on top of its game, but now it faces some stiff competition from its competitors like Nook.

Excitement is brewing within the Amazon organization as it seeks to fill staff positions for its new Prime Expansion team. The company is looking to broaden its offerings for its Amazon Prime product and it wants the best team members available to help achieve its goals.

Amazon Prime is a favorite of regular Amazon shoppers. For $79 per year, shoppers receive free two-day shipping for their orders of products sold directly from the company regardless of order total. They also receive instant streaming on thousands of TV shows and movies. In addition, Amazon Prime members get to borrow one ebook a month from the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library.

As its instant video service and Kindle offerings continue to grow and develop, it makes sense that Amazon would want to keep Amazon Prime offering customers as much as possible. The Internet giant wants every customer to be a member of Amazon Prime, but not everyone is willing to hand over $79 a year. This is one reason why the company wants to up the ante on its Prime product.

Some of the job descriptions for the new team indicate what the company is seeking. These read in part, “The Prime Expansion team is aggressively driving innovations and architectural designs that will allow the program to be easily expanded to allow Prime customers to enjoy benefits on a growing list of Amazon locales and beyond. Our core team mission is to enable the right Prime programs in new places (on and off Amazon) by designing flexible software architectures that will allow for a rapid expansion of the Prime program everywhere!”

Exactly what will change or be added to the Amazon Prime membership package is not clear as yet. It is anticipated that the international market for delivery will widen to include Spain and that a user specific database will be developed.

What is clear is that Amazon is looking to provide more for its Prime members.
